Senior Software Developer for Biopharma

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain software solutions for research scientists in the biopharma industry. This role is crucial for enabling technology and data capabilities that capture, analyze, and report on in vivo studies and other biological data.

The ideal candidate has full-stack software engineering experience, a strong background in the biotech or pharmaceutical sector, and the ability to work in a multi-functional team of scientists and software professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Take ownership of complex software projects from conception to deployment. You'll be responsible for the full software development lifecycle, including managing scope, risk, and timelines.
  • Rapid Prototyping: Utilize strong rapid prototyping skills to quickly translate scientific concepts into working code.
  • Full-Stack Contribution: Contribute to both front-end and back-end development using cloud technology. You will also design and implement applications, custom reports, and interfaces.
  • Quality & Standards: Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and consistency. Develop and implement unit tests, integration tests, and other testing strategies to ensure software quality.
  • Automation & Monitoring: Automate operations, monitor system health, and respond to incidents to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation on software architecture, design, deployment, disaster recovery, and operations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a multi-functional team of scientists, product managers, and other collaborators to deliver high-quality software on time.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Computational Chemistry, Computational Biology/Bioinformatics, or a related field with experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with experience or a Diploma with extensive experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in a General-Purpose High-Level Language (Python, Java, C#.NET).
  • Proficiency in a Javascript UI Framework (React, ExtJs) and SQL (Oracle, PostGres, Databricks).
  • Experience with event-based architecture (Mulesoft, AWS EventBridge, Kafka).
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.
