Commercial Banking Consultant/Subject Matter Expert

We are seeking a seasoned consultant with expertise in commercial banking operations to join our team. This individual will act as an advisor and solutions expert for internal and external stakeholders, providing strategic insights, process consulting, and domain expertise across commercial banking operations.

They will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and operations to drive transformation, support solution design, and ensure delivery excellence in commercial banking engagements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Act as a domain consultant and advisor in commercial banking engagements across client implementations, solution design, and process improvements.
  2. Understand the banking delivery function, including mature systems, platforms, geographical requirements, client support systems, and accelerators in the ecosystem.
  3. Translate complex banking processes into actionable insights and business requirements for BPS functions.
  4. Own RFP/RFI responses, solution creation, and go-to-market strategy for commercial banking offerings.
  5. Drive digital transformation initiatives, such as process reengineering, automation, and workflow orchestration, in client banking operations.
  6. Collaborate with delivery and technology teams to ensure banking domain alignment in solution implementation and ongoing service delivery.
  7. Stay current with regulatory trends, market shifts, and technology innovations in the banking sector.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of experience in commercial banking, with exposure to areas like corporate lending, trade finance, cash & payments, risk & compliance, and client onboarding from operations standpoint.
  • Previous experience in consulting, transformation, or solution architect roles within a BPS function is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of banking processes, systems, and compliance/regulatory environment.
  • Understanding of digital banking trends, banking platforms, automation, analytics, and FinTech collaboration models is a plus.
  • Ability to create impactful presentations, capability decks, and process views.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree with Master's degree in management or related field.
Preferred:
  • Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 Global banks directly or via BPS engagements.
  • Global exposure to UK, US, APAC, or Middle East banking regulations and practices.
