Finite Element Analysis Engineer

Job Summary:

This role supports product development teams primarily in the field of Finite Element Analysis. The successful candidate will execute FEA for implants and surgical instruments, working closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interact with various product development teams to understand FEA requirements
  • Work with design, validation, and advanced operations teams to create FEA modeling plans and model preparation
  • Perform finite element simulations on medical devices of titanium, cobalt chrome, and polymer-based implants and instruments
  • Interact with product owners to translate problem statements to Finite Element Models
  • Analyze and interpret simulation results, recommending design improvements to project teams
  • Verify and validate simulation results against test data and hand calculations
  • Write technical reports with valid reasoning and validation results
  • Participate in simulation workshops, forums, training, and conferences both internal and external
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong background in FEA and solid mechanics
  • Knowledgeable on fundamentals of beam theory and calculations
  • Proficient in handling highly nonlinear FEA problems
  • Strong background in material behavior and material models including metals, polymers, and synthetic biomaterials
  • Proficiency in at least one CAE software like Ansys, Radioss, or Hypermesh
  • Ability to write codes in MATLAB, Python, or similar tools used for mathematical modeling
  • Strong knowledge on design optimization and hands-on experience at FEA tools customization automation
  • Experience building patient-specific models for FEA simulations is a plus

Education:

Minimum Qualifications: B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/M.S in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or Biomedical Engineering

Experience: 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in R&D
