">Are you a highly motivated and experienced Technical NPD Manager looking for a challenging role in the automotive industry? Our client is seeking an exceptional individual to lead the design and development of innovative engine systems and components.
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in engine design, engineering principles, and proven leadership skills. As Chief Automotive Engineer, you will be responsible for driving product innovation, ensuring timely delivery, and meeting customer requirements.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in automotive intake/exhaust/heat exchanger systems, including radiators, intercoolers, oil coolers, charge air coolers, EGR /SCR/ Muffler & Exhaust assembly. They should possess in-depth knowledge of the hardware associated with any of the above systems.
Responsibilities include hands-on design and development of heat exchanger/intake/exhaust system components and systems, catering to the specific requirements of automotive OEMs. This includes developing and enhancing products to meet customer needs.
Additional responsibilities include proficiency in APQP process, particularly in time plan/gate release system, PLM, time and cost management. The successful candidate will be capable of working cross-functionally to optimize the time overall projects development.
Understanding of the critical aspects of intake and exhaust system including emission systems like EGR, thermal management & simulations and validation requirements is essential. Ability to independently develop new products and solutions without constant oversight is also required.
Customer and team interaction are crucial as the successful candidate will interact directly with customers & CFT to understand their requirements and provide technical expertise and solutions that meet their needs effectively.
Assembly line knowledge, ability to cooperate with people of different levels inside/outside the company, ability to express information in a manner appropriate to different levels of people, and ability to recognize, respond to customer expectations with sense of urgency are necessary skills.
Preferred qualifications include BE/ME Mechanical, MBA preferable. Experience 15+ years in Automotive OEM/Proprietary component business is essential. Proficiency in communication, application knowledge, program management & APQP knowledge, knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, MSP, PLM software, knowledge of CAD, GD&T, ID simulation, CAE, and implementation of management techniques ISO 14001:2015, TS1649, IATF 16949 etc. are also desirable.
