Job Summary:

The Network Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting network systems to ensure optimal performance and high availability. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience with cloud networking solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain network systems for optimal performance and high availability
  • Respond promptly to network-related incidents and provide effective solutions to minimize downtime and service disruption
  • Configure and manage network devices including Cisco routers, switches, F5 load balancers, and Palo Alto firewalls
  • Implement and maintain network security policies to safeguard against unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and threats
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, changes, processes, and procedures
  • Work closely with cross-functional IT teams to support overall infrastructure and ensure seamless operations
  • Plan and execute network upgrades, firmware updates, and patches to ensure systems are secure, stable, and up to date
  • Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify issues and generate performance reports
  • Ensure network operations comply with organizational policies and industry standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent field of study
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Cloud Networking: Experience with cloud networking solutions and SDN technologies such as Cisco ACI
  • Firewall Management: Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and implementing security policies
  • Load Balancing: Proficiency in managing F5 Load Balancers for high availability and traffic distribution
  • Network Automation: Knowledge of network automation tools and scripting using Python
  • Routing & Switching: Strong understanding of Cisco routing and switching technologies
  • Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, or Wireshark for network monitoring and diagnostics
  • Protocols & Standards: Solid grasp of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, etc.)
  • Security Best Practices: Understanding of network security principles, threat mitigation, and compliance standards
