Senior Network Operations Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Operations Engineer to take on a challenging role in our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage LAN/WAN and SD-WAN networks with high levels of precision and accuracy.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure optimal performance.
  • Configure and manage network security devices, such as firewalls and load balancers to protect against potential threats.
  • Implement and manage network segmentation and redundancy to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve network-related issues and provide timely solutions.
Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Cisco CCNP/CCIE Routing and Switching certification is desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and data center infrastructure, configuration, and operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), carrier WAN and Internet offerings, cloud network services.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco LAN switching technologies including STP, RSTP, MSTP, VLANs, EtherChannel, and switch stacking; proficient in configuring and troubleshooting Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, implementing QoS, and managing network segmentation and redundancy.
  • In-depth knowledge of firewalls, Zscaler, and load balancer (F5) infrastructure, configuration, and operations.
Preferred Skills:
  • Cisco CCIE Wireless / Aruba Expert Level (ACMX, ACDX, ACCX) certification is desirable.
  • Certified Wireless Networking Professional (CWNP) and Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP) is desirable.
  • Thorough knowledge of WiFi network infrastructure and understanding of software-defined networking.
  • In-depth knowledge of Wireless LAN (Cisco WLAN, Cisco ISE, Aruba WLAN, Aruba Clearpass, Aruba Central, Aruba Naas) and private 5G (e.g., Celona) solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of WiFi network infrastructure, WLAN authentication, and understanding of software-defined networking.

Network Engineer Requirements: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Strong background in network operations, LAN/WAN, and SD-WAN technologies. Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure, security devices, and network segmentation and redundancy.

Network Engineer Qualifications: In-depth knowledge of Cisco LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and data center infrastructure, configuration, and operations. Experience with routing protocols, carrier WAN and Internet offerings, cloud network services, and network security. Knowledge of WiFi network infrastructure and software-defined networking.
