Key Responsibilities and Activities:
- Conduct a thorough analysis of the current technology landscape to understand the data integration framework and assess its impact on new requirements.
- Develop scalable spark jobs using Scala for new project initiatives.
- Enhance existing spark jobs to meet ongoing product enhancement needs.
- Optimize spark job performance through tuning and stress testing.
- Design and implement efficient data pipelines for developed/enhanced spark jobs using AWS Lambda or Apache Airflow.
- Lead database design processes, including logical and physical design, star schema, snowflake schema, etc.
- Analyze data processing, integration, modeling, and reporting requirements, and define data loading strategies based on volume, data types, frequency, and analytics specifications.
- Ensure optimal balance between cost and performance.
- Collaborate with PMs for successful project delivery, providing estimation, scoping, scheduling assistance.
- Manage build phases, quality assure code, and resolve complex design and development issues.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 7-9 years of IT experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with AWS-related projects.
- Associate Level and Professional Level AWS certification preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS Services: S3, EC2, EMR, Serverless, Athena, AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions.
- Cloud Databases: Must have – AWS Aurora, Singlestore, RedShift, Snowflake.
- Big Data: Must have – Hadoop, Hive, Spark, YARN.
- Programming Language: Must have – Scala, Python, Shell Scripts, PySpark.
- Operating System: Must have – Any flavor of Linux, Windows.
- Strong SQL skills required.
- Orchestration Tools: Must have – Apache Airflow.
- Expertise in developing ETL workflows with complex transformations like SCD, deduplications, aggregations, etc.
- Thorough understanding of AWS VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, and Route Tables.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new AWS Services or Big Data Technologies as needed.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree is an advantage).
- Demonstrated continued learning through technical certifications or related methods.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on Cloud-related projects.
