Job Title: Head - Research & Development

Position: A senior executive is required to lead the R&D team.

Our company is seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our R&D team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing large teams and developing cost-effective processes for the synthesis of reliable APIs and intermediates.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of chemists from R&D, tech-transfer and project
  2. Develop and produce cost-effective, non-infringing, safe and eco-friendly technologies for the synthesis of reliable APIs and intermediates.
  3. Creative capabilities in the areas of organic chemistry in designing and conducting multi step organic synthesis that is very much attractive from commercial aspects.
  4. Identify and select API molecules based on developing Non-infringing process for API molecules
  5. Support in transformations in synthetic organic chemistry aimed at target molecule from R&D scale to plant scale.
  6. Good skills in interpretation of NMR, Mass spectra, IR, GC, HPLC and XRD.
  7. Strongly self motivated, believing in team work and efficient problem solver, having good skills for development of subordinate potentials.
  8. Exhibit Good Laboratory Practice.
  9. Efficient handling of High pressure, Hazardous, Highly moisture sensitive and other specialized reactions.
  10. API- cost effective process development.
  11. Optimizing the process by considering the yield, quality, cost and safety operations of the process.
  12. Data generation for DMF filing of final APIs.
  13. Preparation of Process Development Report/TTD to transfer technology to pilot plant.
  14. Impurity impact on process, identification & synthesis
  15. Development of new API molecules and technology transfer of the same.
  16. Process improvement for cost reduction and easy technology transfer.
  17. To develop business opportunities from RFQs
  18. To facilitate the smooth and effective flow of resources between departments like R&D, QA and technology transfer.
  19. To prioritise the customer issue and communicate with necessary action.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD in Organic Chemistry
  • 18-22 years of experience in Pharmaceutical API Companies
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
