As a lead software engineer, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable and scalable way. You are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing new features for a suite of applications that service the securitized products business.
  • Improving the current ecosystem and making changes to the platforms.
  • Providing technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors and vendors.
  • Developing secure and high-quality production code, reviewing and debugging code written by others.
  • Driving decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, technical operations and processes.
  • Serving as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
  • Contributing to the engineering community as an advocate of firm-wide frameworks, tools and practices of the software development life cycle.
  • Influencing peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with 5+ years applied experience is required. Formal training or certification in designing and building large-scale distributed systems, with 12+ years applied experience is also necessary.

The following hands-on practical experience is required:

  • Delivering system design, application development, testing and operational stability.

Additionally, the following skills and knowledge are necessary:

  • Strong knowledge of Java and React JS programming languages.
  • Proficient in SQL Server/Postgres.
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
  • Experience in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics or a related technical field.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g. artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc) is preferred.

Experience in building and growing talents in the past is also desirable.

Able to adapt to the fast-paced environment with changing requirements and multiple different technologies.
