Network Security Engineer Job Description">

Mizuho Global Services is looking for a skilled Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures across enterprise environments. This role is critical to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational data by defending against network-based threats and vulnerabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Design and deploy secure network architectures for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, proxies, and network access control systems.
  • Monitor network traffic and security events using IDS/IPS and SIEM platforms.
  • Conduct regular network vulnerability assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with SOC and IT teams to investigate and remediate network-related incidents.
  • Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform risk assessments and threat modeling for network infrastructure.
  • Ensure secure configuration and patching of routers, switches, and other network devices.
  • Lead network segmentation and zero-trust initiatives to reduce attack surface.
  • Stay informed on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5–7 years of experience in network security engineering or architecture.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing enterprise firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA).
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, SNMP).
  • Experience with IDS/IPS tools (e.g., Snort, Suricata, Cisco Firepower).
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm).
  • Familiarity with VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN) and secure remote access.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and security controls (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
  • Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and security tasks.
  • Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and secure SD-WAN implementations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with compliance audits (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
  • Knowledge of integrating threat intelligence into network defense strategies.
