Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

The role of a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer involves the deployment, management and scaling of cloud-based infrastructure. This includes designing, building and maintaining systems that are highly available, scalable and secure.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build and maintain cloud-based infrastructure on GCP.
  • Develop and implement containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment and orchestration.
  • Apply server-side software engineering skills to automate tasks and manage infrastructure using Bash.
  • Decouple monolith services into manageable microservices (optional).
  • Leverage configuration management tools like Puppet, Ansible, Chef or Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Develop robust monitoring systems to track system health, including collecting and analyzing metrics and logs.
  • Manage servers, databases and web services effectively using in-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking concepts.
  • Proactively identify and resolve system issues to ensure high availability and optimal performance of applications and infrastructure.
Required Skills
  • Proficiency with GCP cloud platform.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong server-side software engineering skills, particularly in Bash.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Terraform).
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools and ability to develop monitoring systems.
  • In-depth understanding of Linux/Unix systems and networking concepts.
  • Experience in managing servers, databases and web services.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Experience decoupling monolith services.
