Job Title: Field Instrumentation Specialist

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Field Instrumentation Specialist to lead our team in delivering technically correct solutions to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of Technical Lead roles in projects or lead individual units within large projects for Field Instrumentation scope.
  • Deliver technically correct solutions to customers within agreed schedules and budgets.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Supervisors, other Leads, and Project Managers.
  • Understand customer project specifications, RFQs, and other relevant documents.
  • Evaluate project inputs and gather technical queries through email or teleconferences for remote projects from India.
  • Develop Design Specifications and Bill of Materials for Field Instrumentation scope.
  • Conduct basic and detailed design engineering, third-party ordering, testing, FAT at the factory, site commissioning, system cutovers, loop checking, and develop typical templates for Field Instrumentation items.
  • Read and understand P&IDs, control narratives, logic diagrams, and other relevant documents.
  • Monitor and control assigned work scopes against project plans, ensure effective change control, and identify risks/opportunities.
  • Ensure engineered solutions meet project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in customer meetings, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and hand over projects to customers.

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in Basic and Detailed Engineering and Execution of Field Instrumentation Projects.
  • Preparation of instrument design basis, general engineering specification, preparation of detailed engineering databases using latest software tools.
  • Preparation of control valve data sheets, field instrument datasheets/enquiry specification (flow, level, pressure, temperature, and analyzers).
  • Sizing of control valves, flow elements, field instruments as per international standards using latest software.
  • Evaluation of techno-commercial offers for instrument items, preparation of technical recommendations, and vendor drawing review/approval.
  • Preparation of inspection and test plans of field instruments, inspection/testing of flow, level, pressure, temperature instruments, and analyzers.
  • Preparation of instrument plot plans, hook-up diagrams, termination drawings, cable schedules.
  • Domain knowledge of Refinery, Petrochemicals, Pipeline, Oil & Gas industries.
