Foundry Material Inspector and Quality Control Specialist

This role involves conducting thorough inspections of raw materials and sand to ensure they meet quality standards.

  • Inspect incoming raw materials such as pig iron, CRC scrap, ferroalloys, and other additives for quality control.
  • Evaluate chemical and physical parameters of raw materials to approve or reject them.
  • Perform regular testing of Green Sand, No Bake Sand, and Neno Sand to confirm compliance with process specifications.
  • Analyze sand parameters including AFS grain fineness, SiO2 %, Moisture %, Compactability, and Green Strength.
  • Conduct analysis and monitoring of ductile iron parameters including %C (Carbon), %Si (Silicon), %Mn (Manganese), %P (Phosphorus), %S (Sulfur), %Mg (Magnesium), %Al (Aluminum), and %VM (Volatile Matter).
  • Conduct Brinell/Rockwell hardness tests as part of the quality control process.
  • Support metallurgical and microstructure evaluation where required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and test reports according to ISO, NABL, and internal quality standards.
  • E nsure all laboratory procedures adhere to ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, and customer audit requirements.
  • Assist in CML (Central Material Lab) testing and analysis for validation of material specifications.
  • Participate in internal and external audits (ISO, NABL, customer audits).
  • P repare, maintain, and present relevant audit documents.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical, Chemistry, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in foundry or material testing lab.
  • Familiarity with spectrometers, sand testing equipment, and mechanical testing tools.
