Job Description:

  • We are seeking a highly experienced Marine Underwriter to join our team as a Director.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in marine underwriting, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality results and exceeding targets. You will be responsible for developing and implementing underwriting strategies that drive business growth while maintaining a strong risk profile.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to identify new business opportunities and develop innovative solutions to meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies that drive business growth and maintain a strong risk profile.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify new business opportunities and develop innovative solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform underwriting decisions.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop targeted marketing campaigns and product offerings.
  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with new business initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in marine underwriting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results and exceeding targets.
  • Strong understanding of marine insurance products and markets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation an asset.
