Job Summary

  • A stress engineer is responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of aircraft and other complex systems.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and experience with finite element analysis.

You will be utilizing simulation software to simulate and analyze complex structural behaviors.

Your work will involve performing airframe structural analysis, updating and validating Finite Element Models (FEM), and extracting loads using specialized software.

This role requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.

You will be working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement automation scripts for efficient reporting and data management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis on aircraft structures to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Update and validate FEM using GFEM, ensuring accuracy and precision in simulations.
  • Conduct stress analysis on various materials, including composites and metals, to identify potential weaknesses and optimize design.
  • Extract loads using Airbus in-house tools and integrate them into finite element models for comprehensive analysis.
  • Utilize specialized software like ISAMI, Hypermesh, and MSC Nastran/Patran to simulate and analyze complex structural behaviors.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts using Excel VBA for efficient reporting and data management.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with advanced simulation techniques, such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and thermodynamics.
