Technical Access Specialist Job Description

About the Role:

This technical access specialist supports a nonprofit organization that aims to close the employment gap for individuals with disabilities.

The organization merges human services with business acumen and offers an Accessibility Partner Program that empowers blind and low-vision professionals by pairing them with trained visual interpreters.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide visual interpretation, data summarization, and navigation assistance within platforms such as Azure Portals, Excel, and Visual Studio.
  • Review, interpret, and make basic code changes.
  • Create and manage spreadsheets for data tracking and analysis.
  • Utilize formulas, pivot tables, and other Excel tools to streamline workflows.
  • Assist in converting and formatting documents to meet accessibility standards.
  • Summarize meetings, manage task follow-ups, and track progress in collaboration with team members.

Requirements:

  • Basic coding knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and using intermediate Excel functions.
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Maintain clear, professional communication in English, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
  • Comfortable working in a high-speed technical environment with urgency and frequent task-switching.
