Surface Designer - Automotive Exterior/Interior

About this role:

  • Create high-fidelity 3D CAD and Class-A surface data from sketches, scans, engineering sections, and designer inputs.
  • Develop concept models in Autodesk Alias Automotive and deliver production-quality Class-A surfaces with G2/G3 continuity.
  • Perform quality checks (curvature, zebra, sections) and collaborate with engineering to resolve feasibility issues.
  • Prepare visualizations for design reviews using VRED and KeyShot.
  • Release data in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems like Teamcenter, ENOVIA, or Windchill, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Track progress against plan and meet quality standards.

Mandatory skills and qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in Alias Automotive (exterior and interior).
  • Solid understanding of Class-A surface workflows, including surface continuity and patch layout.
  • Familiarity with VRED and KeyShot for visualization, as well as PLM release basics.
  • A portfolio showcasing at least 2–3 free-form, production-intent surfaces.

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Experience with ICEM Surf/CATIA (GSD/ICEM), scan-to-surface technology, scripting (MEL/Python), and GD&T awareness.
