About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled surface designer to create high-quality, production-ready Class-A surfaces from sketches, scans, engineering sections, and designer inputs. As an Alias specialist, you will be responsible for taking CAD data to a production-quality Class-A and releasing it through PLM.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Create CLASS-A / 3D CAD & CAS data from conceptual designs, utilizing solid workflows, surface continuity, and patch layout skills
  • Build concept models in Autodesk Alias Automotive; deliver production-quality Class-A surfaces (G2/G3) with attention to detail and quality standards
  • Run quality checks (curvature/zebra/sections), resolve feasibility issues with engineering teams
  • Prepare visualizations for design reviews (VRED/KeyShot)
  • Release data in PLM (Teamcenter/ENOVIA/Windchill) and maintain accurate documentation
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Alias Automotive (exterior/interior)
  • Demonstrated expertise in CAS → Class-A workflows, surface continuity, patch layout, and GSD/ICEM Surf/CATIA tools
  • Familiarity with VRED/KeyShot and PLM release processes
  • Portfolio showcasing at least 2–3 free-form, production-intent surfaces with precise details and accurate representations
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • ICEM Surf/CATIA (GSD/ICEM)
  • Scan-to-surface techniques
  • Scripting (MEL/Python) for efficient workflow automation
  • GD&T awareness and implementation
