Azure Data Engineer Job Description

Summary:

  • We are seeking a skilled data solutions architect to design, implement, and maintain large-scale data processing systems on Azure.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Architecture

Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for large datasets using ADF, PySpark, and SQL to ensure seamless data integration.

Implement data pipelines to integrate with various data sources and target platforms, leveraging the power of Azure services.

Collaborate with data scientists to design and implement data architectures that support machine learning workloads, driving business innovation.

Optimize data processing workflows for scalability, performance, and reliability, ensuring high-quality data delivery.

Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry regulations and company policies, mitigating risk.

Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure services and technologies, applying this knowledge to improve data engineering practices and enhance business agility.

Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code, fostering a culture of excellence.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including data warehousing, ETL, and data integration.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), PySpark, and SQL, with a proven track record of delivering complex data projects.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#, with expertise in data manipulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with big data storage solutions like HDFS, Azure Blob Storage, or Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, ensuring seamless data storage and retrieval.
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance best practices, protecting sensitive data and ensuring regulatory adherence.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in a team environment, driving results through effective partnerships.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and tools, staying ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving field.
