Statutory Reporting Associate

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Statutory Reporting Associate. This role involves supporting the preparation and compilation of disclosures included in SEC filings and Statutory filings.

This position requires close collaboration with various business partners to ensure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of financial reporting disclosures included in Forms 10-Q and Form 10-K, other US GAAP financial statements as well as Statutory financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analytical reports will be prepared and various analytical skills and procedures will be utilized to assist with understanding and validation of financial statements and disclosures.
  • Workpapers related to financial reporting activities will be coordinated, conducted, and documented in accordance with company policies, procedures, and SOX controls.
  • Timely and accurate delivery of financial information will be ensured, including analyzing and reporting of financial activities.
  • Interaction with internal and external auditors will be necessary.
  • Process improvements and automation efforts will be driven, and participation/leadership in problem-solving sessions and provision of functional advice to less-experienced analysts will be provided.
  • Variety of projects will be assisted, including participation in continuous improvement initiatives related to financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
  • CA/CPA/CMA certification is mandatory.
  • 5+ years or more of experience, including public accounting, insurance accounting, or SEC reporting environment is required.
  • Good understanding of US GAAP and competency in preparing financial statement disclosures and performing financial analysis for GAAP and Statutory financial statements is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Oracle, SmartView is preferred.
  • Sharing technical expertise with others, including peers; leading or assisting in implementation of process improvements; providing functional advice or training on complex matters to less-experienced financial analysts is desirable.
