Project EHS Director

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive EHS risk assessments and mitigation strategies for projects and projects.
  • Prepare, implement, and maintain emergency response plans at project level.
  • Ensure sub-contractors' EHS compliance, particularly when interfaces involve other contractors or operational areas.
  • Exercise full authority to stop any operational activity posing immediate high risk to people or the environment.
  • Coach, assess, and support EHS teams in projects and projects.
  • Collaborate with social and medical partners and communicate EHS-related information.
  • Provide EHS support during project execution and conduct audits of EHS plan implementation during project phases.
  • Deploy Alstom EHS standards and tools at project level.
  • Maintain compliance with statutory, regulatory, contractual, and company requirements, proposing corrective actions for gaps.
  • Document project EHS records and maintain a historical pollution and risk database.
  • Establish project EHS communication plans and implement EHS training programs with HR support.
  • Prevent and investigate accidents/incidents, reporting, recording, and analyzing them, and establishing REX reports for severe or potentially severe accidents.
  • Submit monthly EHS reports, ensuring data quality and feeding the EHS reporting system according to Group requirements.

Performance Indicators:

  • Injury Frequency Rate (IFR) 1 and IFR 2.
  • Fatality/severe accidents.
  • Safety Observation Visit number and other leading indicators.
  • Health and wellbeing (Occupational diseases, ergonomics).
  • Environment (Energy, water, waste, TOPE, Volatile Organic Compound).

Educational Requirements:

  • Engineering degree or diploma from a recognized institution.
  • Full-time degree/diploma in safety from a recognized institution body.
  • Two-year full-time regular program in industrial safety from a recognized institution.

Experience: 10-12 years in metro projects, with at least 5 years in a chief safety officer/manager capacity for similar projects.
