Technical Migration Specialist

Job Description:

The ideal candidate for this role will be a skilled professional with a strong background in Oracle Hyperion Essbase and relational database management systems. Key responsibilities include leading technical analysis of existing applications to inform migration planning, mapping business dimensions and hierarchies to SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), converting complex calculation scripts to equivalent SQL/MDX expressions, ensuring data integrity throughout the migration process, developing validation procedures, creating parallel testing environments, documenting migration processes and technical specifications, creating comprehensive documentation, developing user training materials, and maintaining system configurations.

  • Lead technical analysis of existing applications for migration planning purposes.
  • Map business dimensions and hierarchies to SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
  • Convert complex calculation scripts to equivalent SQL/MDX expressions.
  • Ensure data integrity during the migration process.
  • Develop migration validation procedures.
  • Create parallel testing environments.
  • Document migration processes and technical specifications.
  • Create comprehensive documentation.
  • Develop user training materials.
  • Maintain system configurations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) solutions.
  • Proficiency in Hyperion Planning and Essbase technologies.
  • Experience with financial reporting and Smart View applications.
  • Strong understanding of Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management (FDM/FDMEE) principles.
  • Familiarity with VBScript/JavaScript programming languages.

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of financial consolidation processes.
