Category Manager Position

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Category Manager to join our team. As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for creating valuable relations with current and new customers, working with highly professional teams, and being valued, recognized, and well rewarded.

The ideal candidate will have end-to-end responsibility, accountability, and handling entire demand to delivery process for allocated set of vessels and ensure the 4R Principle Right price, Right Place, Right Time, and Right Quantity.

You will run the RFQ process with non-contracted suppliers for optimal deliveries, follow Procure to Pay process (PTP) for timely payments to all vendors, and handle invoices with discrepancies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing Stakeholder Management with technical organizations and addressing their concerns in a timely manner under Procurement Framework.
  • Proposing solutions in case of complex situations and actively involved in driving SC Excellence and efficiencies with key stakeholders.
  • To be well-versed with IT platform / system operation and use insights from the use of a process to improve and optimize the process and ensure compliance.
  • Driving & Monitoring Operational Performance of the team and assist Team Lead with Operational Reporting Tasks.
  • Demonstrate Leadership skills and fill in for Deputy responsibilities in the absence of the Team lead.
  • Accountable for Training & mentoring of junior staff on a day-to-day basis and monitor and share feedback on the performance of the junior Buyers and work on improvement plan to improve on performance.
  • Lead & drive assigned Initiatives within the Teams around Category Strategies.
  • Take lead in driving & implementation of Automation as a part of Digital Agenda.
  • Represent the Team in Key & Strategic Forums and provide constructive feedback.
  • You will be involved Supplier Performance Management tasks and Price Negotiations and can actively participate in running or supporting with contract Management for smaller agreements.

The ideal candidate should have 5-8 years of experience in procurement, category buying or Marine Procurement background will be preferred.
