Job Title:

Cyber Security Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Engineer to safeguard our systems, networks, and data against internal and external threats. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), virtual private networks (VPNs), proxies, and endpoint protection.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and manage security tools and infrastructure to protect against cyber threats.
  • Monitoring and Response: Monitor systems and networks for potential security breaches and investigate violations.
  • Risk Management: Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis.
  • Incident Response: Respond to security incidents and lead incident response activities, including root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Compliance and Governance: Evaluate systems, applications, and network configurations to ensure compliance with internal security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement security best practices and secure software development life cycle (SDLC).
Requirements:

The successful candidate must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Solid understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, proxies, and endpoint protection.
  • Proficiency with SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, and forensic tools.
  • Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Strong understanding of network and web-related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, etc.).
Bonus Points:

Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, OSCP, or GSEC would be beneficial. Experience with cloud security in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and familiarity with DevSecOps and container security (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is also desirable.
