BIW Lead Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the design and development of body-in-white (BIW) structures and assemblies.

  • The ideal candidate will develop and implement innovative BIW designs that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
  • The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of BIW components with other vehicle systems.
  • Key responsibilities also include optimizing BIW component costs while maintaining quality and performance, coordinating with manufacturing teams to ensure efficient production processes, analyzing and interpreting results of structural, static, and dynamic simulations for BIW components, and staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve BIW design and manufacturing processes.
Requirements:
  • The candidate should have 6-8 years of experience in passenger car BIW structure and assembly.
  • In-depth knowledge of UG NX, parametric modeling, surface modeling, and manufacturing & joining techniques of BIW structures is required.
  • Experience in concept generation of BIW components using CAD design and developing BIW panels for the automotive industry is necessary.
  • Able to create master sections and interpret results of structural, static & dynamic simulations for BIW Components.
  • In-depth knowledge of DFMA, manufacturing feasibility, tooling feasibility of BIW components.
  • Knowledge on materials, FMEA, GD&T and Stack Up analysis.
  • Team center knowledge is a must.
