Job Title: Senior Medical Coder

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Medical Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in coding medical records for inpatient and outpatient surgical specialties.

This is a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to leverage their expertise in medical coding, analysis, and documentation to drive high-quality patient care outcomes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10-CM & PCS diagnoses and procedure codes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. A minimum of 5+ years' experience in coding medical records for inpatient and outpatient surgical specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, cardiology, spine, and oral surgery.
  2. Ability to analyze complex medical data, identify patterns, and assign accurate codes.
  3. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  4. Experience in researching and applying coding rules and regulations, including HCPCS, CPT, and modifiers.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and various EMR systems.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
  • Certifications: AHIMA/RHIA or AAPC/CPC-H.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems.
