Job Summary

Western Digital is seeking a highly skilled Lab Operations Manager to oversee the quality and efficiency of all lab procedures, regulatory compliance, quality assurance functions, and auditing activities. This role is responsible for maintaining and revising quality and regulatory procedures and quality indicators across the lab facility to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and revise quality and regulatory procedures and quality indicators across the lab facility to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, quality, and safety.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards related to electrical, HVAC, and N/W work.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in conducting safety inspections and implement corrective action to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safe working conditions.
  • Work as part of the team to support lab operations and quality assurance activities for cross-functional teams.
  • Implement corrective actions to quality issues as needed and thoroughly document changes, track relevant data, and submit action plans to address problems or areas for improvement.
  • Educate and train staff in the use of relevant technology and methodologies within the lab.
  • Responsible for planning, design, implementation, documentation, maintenance, and support of the Point systems throughout the lab.
  • Serve as a technical consultant to help POC for inventory management tracking and work with facility POC for smooth functioning of lab operations.
  • Support and participate actively in all quality audits and regulatory activities as needed to ensure standard operational models.
  • Provide appropriate training, equipment, and education to protect staff and visitors from unsafe conditions. Coordinate and conduct training for lab staff on new methods and procedures.
  • Effectively work with the Facility, Procurement, and IT teams to ensure product deliverables are met on time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with relevant years of experience.
  • 6+ years of related experience, preferably in mid-to-large-scale enterprise lab operations and audit management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, including formulas.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Procurement and lab operations support experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Team player with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of working independently.
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
