Cloud Engineer Job Description

As a cloud engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying and maintaining highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure to support applications and services.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, architects and operations to architect and implement secure, efficient and cost-effective solutions on the cloud platform.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and deploying cloud-based infrastructure to meet business needs
  • Collaborating with teams to ensure seamless integration of applications and services
  • Developing and enforcing best practices for infrastructure as code, configuration management and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization
  • Implementing security measures and best practices to protect data and infrastructure including identity and access management, network security and data encryption
  • Automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration and deployment using tools like Terraform, Ansible and Jenkins
  • Collaborating with development teams to optimize application performance and ensure seamless integration with cloud services
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies, trends and best practices and providing recommendations for continuous improvement

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience with ForgeRock/Ping IAM products (AM, IDM, IG, DS)
  • Deep understanding of IAM architecture, integration methods, REST APIs and directory services
  • Experience in Java development, Spring Boot, scripting and secure coding standards
  • Proven experience deploying, managing and scaling applications in Kubernetes environments, particularly Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
  • Exposure to DevOps, version control and CI/CD pipelines
  • Good understanding of Authentication, Authorization, MFA, SSO, Federation, OAuth, OIDC, Provisioning, Reconciliation, Proxy and Directory Services concepts
  • Should have knowledge of AD, LDAP, Database integration
  • Java development experience for customizations and enhancements of IAM systems, including writing secure, maintainable code to support authentication and authorization workflows
  • Knowledge of IAM solutions in Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and how IAM integrates within those platforms
  • Experience with API security and integration using JSON, REST and web services
