Job Description

Furniture Designer – Export Market Focus

We are seeking a skilled furniture designer who can create innovative designs for our export market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research customer preferences through past sales data and international market trends
  • Create original design concepts in solid wood aligned with our export strengths
  • Draft production-ready drawings using CAD tools
  • Collaborate with merchandising and sourcing teams to translate concepts into viable collections
  • Work with prototyping teams to refine joinery, finishes, ergonomics, and structural integrity
  • Incorporate KD (knock-down) joinery, export packaging standards, and compliance requirements

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in furniture design, preferably in solid wood
  • Strong skills in CAD tools
  • Knowledge of global furniture trends, ergonomics, finishing techniques, and joinery
  • Ability to translate abstract research into commercially viable designs
  • Good communication and presentation skills

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with reclaimed or sustainable wood materials
  • Understanding of packaging and shipping for exports
  • Familiarity with American and European design preferences
  • Prior experience with export-oriented furniture markets
