Job Title: Assistant Designer

The Assistant Designer plays a pivotal role in driving the design team forward by implementing efficient workflows that ensure all designs in the portfolio meet style guides, BIBA's design language, and quality standards.

  • Maintain and track departmental fashion calendars to guarantee timely delivery of designs.
  • Conduct research and forecasting on evolving fashion trends to provide valuable insights for design development.
  • Monitor market changes and competition to stay ahead.
  • Perform daily organizational tasks such as styling the range, embroidery development, and sample creation as directed.
  • Organize and manage styling materials and resources for sampling purposes.
  • Conceptualize, create, and deliver strong design solutions through effective communication.
  • Collaborate with Design Merchant teams to achieve exceptional design outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain design team workflows.
  2. Maintain and track departmental fashion calendars.
  3. Research and forecast evolving fashion trends.
  4. Monitor competition and market changes.
  5. Perform daily organizational tasks.
  6. Organize styling materials and resources.
  7. Conceptualize, create, and deliver design solutions.
  8. Partner with Design Merchant teams.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A Diploma / Degree in Design (NIFT/NID/Pearl Academy etc).
  • Proficiency in Photoshop/Excel/Corel Draw.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the field.
  • An understanding of Indian ethnic wear design sensibilities – Fabric and Styling.
  • A proven track record of designing an eye-catching Apparel portfolio with a design team.
