Incident Analysis Specialist

This position involves performing technical analysis for in-service incidents reported by operators to Airbus customer services, product safety, and acceptance flights. The role requires decoding flight recorder data, analyzing reported incidents, and providing internal customers with validated information in due time and appropriate feedback toward the Engineering and Integration Test community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data frame validation - decoding, pre-processing, and processing of data from Flight Data Recorders into readable flight parameters.
- Decoding flight raw data recorded on various recorders (DFDR, QAR, DAR, SAR).
- Analyzing and interpreting decoded data.
- Providing preliminary results to customers within due time.
- Coordinating incident analysis meetings involving various stakeholders (Customer Support, Design Office, Flight Operations, Test pilots, Product Safety department, etc.) and supporting them for their analysis.
- Building flight path (trajectory) or a 3D animation if needed from decoded raw data.
- Sharing lessons learnt of each event with other members of the team.
- The activity requires stand-by outside standard working hours.
Required Skills and Expertise:
- Experience in domains of aircraft flight physics, flight systems, flight performance, flight data monitoring.
- Knowledge of multiple aircraft systems and various parameters' behavior during different flight phases.
- Aircraft data transmission, flight recorder technology, and recording protocols (ARINC429, ARINC717) knowledge would be preferable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good report writing skills.
- Knowledge of any programming language, ability to understand software programming codes, and help in optimizing tool features.
- Ability to take ownership and responsibilities of time-bounded activities assigned.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, and adaptability to work in a globally distributed team.
