About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled professional to play a crucial part in developing and maintaining Large Language Model (LLM) safety components. The successful candidate will design guardrails for prompt injection protection, toxicity/bias detection, and hallucination/jailbreak identification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build LLM guardrails to prevent prompt injection attacks, detect toxicity and bias, and identify hallucinations and jailbreaks.
  • Maintain evaluation frameworks to monitor LLM safety, fairness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop automated pipelines using Python and SQL to process, tag, and evaluate LLM outputs.
  • Use vector databases and embeddings to detect unsafe content or model drift.
  • Create internal dashboards and visualizations using Streamlit, Dash, or lightweight React/JS for POCs and internal tools.
  • Collaborate with ML engineers and product teams to integrate LLM safety components into production APIs or applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with AI safety research, emerging tools like Ragas and LangChain, and regulatory standards such as the EU AI Act and NIST AI RMF.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in data science, applied machine learning, or LLM-based applications.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience writing SQL for data exploration or feature engineering.
  • Solid understanding of natural language processing, deep learning, and LLM architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Hugging Face, LangChain, LLM APIs, and vector stores like FAISS and Pinecone.
  • Familiarity with front-end basics is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Experience with model evaluation, red-teaming, or safety interventions in NLP/LLM systems.
  • (Preferred) Familiarity with deploying ML pipelines in production and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
