About the Role:

Framestore is a leading post-production company that produces world-class visual effects for films. We are currently seeking a Department Manager for our Mumbai office.

\

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing teams, ensuring efficient allocation of crew and resources, and maintaining high levels of morale among team members.

\

We are offering a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

\

About the Job:

\

The Department Manager will be responsible for liaising with Producers and Supervisors/Leads to resource VFX Projects with the best available crew. They will discuss the progress of work on each show with local Production and site Supervisor/Lead and plan resources accordingly.

\

They will also negotiate with Producers and reallocate crew when necessary to achieve the best cross-project allocation of crew. Additionally, they will take responsibility for departmental inductions along with the department creative head.

\

Key responsibilities include:

\
  • \
  • Managing multi-site communication with show producers regarding resource changes and allocations\
  • Coordinating internal department meetings and managing weekly target schedules\
  • Conducting performance reviews and appraisals\
  • Liaising with the production team to manage vacation requests and ensure time off is approved/accommodated\
  • Working closely with the Head of Resources to handle disciplinary issues and dismissals\
  • Generating accurate reports and working closely with the local Head of Resources\\/ul

Essential Skills:

\

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in VFX/CG companies, with a strong understanding of the VFX and CG pipeline. They will be skilled in Microsoft Excel and Shotgun, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

\

Additionally, they will have a strong attention to detail to ensure all documents and reports are maintained at the highest level.

\

Desirable Skills:

\

The successful candidate will also possess negotiation skills, diplomacy, and a proven ability to establish good relationships with creative heads.

\

They will be self-motivated, able to prioritize work efficiently, and create and develop various departmental reports.
