
Medical Records Coordinator

A Medical Records Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing excellent customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and other authorized individuals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and Maintain Medical Records: Develop, implement, and maintain a system for creating and storing medical records in accordance with established policies and procedures. Ensure that all records are accurate, complete, and easily accessible.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with changes in laws, regulations, and standards related to medical record-keeping, such as HIPAA, and ensure that our medical records meet these requirements.
- Abstract and Code Medical Data: Review and abstract medical data from patient records to identify relevant diagnoses, procedures, and treatments for billing and reimbursement purposes.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Providers: Work closely with healthcare providers and support staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of medical records and documentation.
- Manage Record-Keeping Systems: Oversee the management and maintenance of electronic health record systems, including software updates, training, and troubleshooting.
- MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY: Possess strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to accurately code and document patient information.
- COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient in electronic health record systems, Microsoft Office, and other software applications used in medical record-keeping.
- ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and other authorized individuals.
