Innovation Manager for Beauty Devices

This role is responsible for end-to-end innovation of beauty devices. The ideal candidate will develop differentiated, safe, and cost-efficient products that align with the company's design-led and system-integrated roadmap.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Create product roadmaps and requirement documents that define problem statements, user requirements, and success metrics, aligning with brand, supply chain, and finance teams.
  • Drive new product development from concept to prototype and manage tooling, tolerances, materials, and reliability testing.
  • Evaluate motor, heat, airflow modules, power electronics, and safety features.
  • Identify and qualify suppliers, negotiate minimum order quantities, and build should-cost models.
  • Plan test protocols and documentation for compliance with international standards, such as BIS/CRS, IEC 60335 series, RoHS/REACH, EPR (e-waste), WPC (RF), and UN38.3/IEC 62133 (if batteries).
  • Partner with industrial designers to ensure ergonomics, acoustic comfort, thermals, and serviceability, as well as packaging fit and specifications.
  • Pilot builds, line setup, SOPs, spares/after-sales, user manuals, and risk registers for go-to-market readiness.
  • Track field performance, NPS/reviews, and failure modes, driving rapid revisions and cost/quality improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in hardware product development for small appliances, consumer electronics, or beauty devices.
  • Proven design for manufacturability/design for excellence (DFM/DFX) skills, basic electrical/mechanical literacy (PCBA, plastics, metals, silicone), tooling, and reliability testing.
  • Strong vendor management skills, including requests for quotations (RFQs), bills of materials (BOMs), first article inspection/testing (PPAP/FAT), in India/China/Korea.
  • Familiarity with Indian and global compliance pathways for consumer devices.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) tools (SolidWorks/Creo), finite element analysis/computational fluid dynamics (FEA/CFD) interpretation, project management/planning tools (Jira/PLM), and Microsoft Excel for financial modeling.
  • Execution bias and ability to run parallel tracks and meet deadlines.
