Job Title: Marine Technical Purchaser

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Technical Purchaser to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and procuring spare parts, consumables, and technical equipment for vessels.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure reliable support.

Order Processing & Coordination:

  • Purchase Requisitions: Process purchase requisitions from vessels and fleet management teams efficiently. Ensure accurate and timely order placement, tracking, and follow-ups.
  • Logistics and Supply Chain: Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to arrange timely delivery of goods to vessels at ports worldwide.

Budgeting & Cost Control:

  • Cost Savings: Support the monitoring and control of procurement budgets. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality or safety.
  • Supplier Invoices: Review and verify supplier invoices and ensure accurate documentation for payment processing. Ensure timely clearance of invoices in the system and follow up on pending payments.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities are in compliance with maritime regulations and classification society requirements.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor agreements.
  • Audit Support: Assist during audits related to procurement and inventory management.

Technical Support & Communication:

  • Purchasing Requirements: Collaborate closely with vessel superintendents and technical teams to understand and fulfill purchasing requirements.
  • Solution Development: Provide alternative solutions when specific parts or equipment are unavailable.
  • Communication: Keep vessels updated on order status and delivery timelines.
