Product Development Manager

Shrey Sports, a leading brand in cricket helmets and sports apparel, relies on elite athletes worldwide. We began crafting top-tier cricket helmets and gained international recognition.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The ideal candidate should have expertise in garment manufacturing, production timelines, buyer communication, and product development to manage the end-to-end merchandising process effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between buyers and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Understand buyer requirements, develop samples, and obtain timely approvals to meet customer needs.
  • Prepare Time and Action calendars for each order to streamline production processes.
  • Follow up on raw material sourcing, production schedules, and quality parameters to guarantee high-quality products.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely procurement of trims and fabrics to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor order status, production progress, and delivery timelines to provide accurate updates to stakeholders.
  • Prepare costing sheets and negotiate prices with buyers and suppliers to optimize profitability.
  • Manage buyer communications regarding order updates, changes, and queries to maintain excellent customer service.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, pricing, and buyer expectations to make informed decisions.
  • Maintain all merchandising records, reports, and documentation accurately to facilitate future analysis and improvement.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to build effective relationships with buyers and suppliers.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), and familiarity with ERP/MIS systems to leverage technology for productivity gains.
  • Knowledge of fabric types, trims, washes, and garment construction to make informed design and production decisions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines to deliver high-quality results consistently.
