Job Description

The Senior Electronics Hardware Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in the electronics design team, collaborating closely with the project lead to drive requirements management, electronic circuit design, analysis, implementation, and testing of cutting-edge aerospace electronics products and printed circuit boards.

  • Evaluating and selecting high-performance electronics components, designing analog and digital circuits, and creating detailed schematics.
  • Analyzing circuit behavior for tolerance, power, thermal, and worst-case conditions to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborating with layout engineers to implement design guidelines and ensuring seamless integration.
  • Leading board bring-up and testing efforts to validate product functionality.
  • Conducting environmental testing to guarantee product reliability and durability.
  • Maintaining process, quality, and program compliance throughout the development lifecycle.

This role involves providing critical technical input on design and implementation during product hardware development. The successful candidate will participate in and sometimes lead high-level and low-level design reviews, analyze issues, identify root causes, develop effective solutions, and leverage technical expertise to resolve complex problems that intersect multiple technical disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated understanding of electronic hardware involving digital/microprocessor circuits, power, and EMI circuits.
  • Prior electrical design experience with high-speed digital or mixed-signal design is essential.
  • Ability to simplify complex circuits and communicate underlying concepts clearly.
  • Capacity to provide technical guidance and leadership within project contexts.
  • Self-motivated individual with a focus on results, sense of urgency, and ability to work effectively in a boundary-less environment.

A background in designing EMI/EMC compliant power electronics applications and experience with RF conducted and radiated emissions/susceptibility testing are highly valued. Familiarity with grounding and shielding techniques, chassis design for good EMC, and mentorship in schematic and layout tools such as Dx Designer and HyperLynx DRC/SI is an added advantage.

Innovative thinker capable of visualizing solutions quickly, generating ideas, and possessing a good orientation to hardware systems, procedures, and process frameworks (CMMi, AS9100C, Six-Sigma, HW Processes) for product/hardware development.

Experience working in a matrix organization structure with solid and dotted line reporting and/or global people reporting.

Minimum educational requirement: Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Power Electronics; 7-8 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
