Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and verify Purchase & Sales Bills, matching them with POs, invoices, and supplementary bills.
  • Manage cash control, voucher preparation, and daily transaction entries in accounting books/ERP systems.
  • Handle creditors management and vendor payments via NEFT/RTGS.
  • Liaise with bankers for daily operations and handle LC documentation.
  • Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS).
  • Compute salaries & wages, maintain Salary and Attendance Registers.
  • Prepare monthly stock statements for banks (Cash Credit facility).
  • Assist in finalizing accounts (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow).
  • Draft official letters related to accounts and statutory matters.
  • Prepare Management Information System (MIS) reports.
Statutory Compliances:
  • Income Tax: Compute TDS, make payments, e-file returns, issue Form 16/16A, compute advance tax, and file ITR.
  • GST: Register, amend, generate challans, file GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B, annual returns, refunds, audits, and E-Way bills.
  • PF & ESI: Make monthly contributions, generate UAN, transfer/withdraw funds, and register employees under PF/ESI.
  • Legacy Compliances: VAT/CST, Excise Duty – file, reconcile, and provide audit support.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Minimum: B.Com (Accounting/Finance).
  • Preferred: M.Com or specialization in Finance/Accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian Taxation, GST, TDS, PF/ESI, and statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Tally, and ERP systems.

You must be analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple statutory timelines.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and finance.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial software and systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
