Functional Application Specialist in Accounting Operations



Our organization is seeking a skilled professional to join our Accounting Onboarding team as a Functional Application Specialist. This role requires strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.



Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement accounting automation solutions.
  • Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of accounting systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Provide expert-level support for financial system implementations.


Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working in Financial Services implementing solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in ERP implementation along with understanding of modules like GL, AP, AR, CM, FA, Expenses, PPM etc.
  • Ability to understand complex business flows and break them into use cases.
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Experience working with large-scale data reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
