Founding Head of Engineering

The Founding Head of Engineering is a critical role that requires strong leadership skills and technical expertise. As a founding member of the engineering team, you will have the opportunity to shape the technical direction of the company and drive innovation.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for building scalable and reliable systems, as well as experience leading high-performing teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing the architecture of our agentic AI platform, collaborating closely with product and operations teams to deliver into real-world environments.

We are looking for a visionary leader who can drive technical execution across short-term priorities and long-term strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and scaling complex systems and APIs, as well as experience leading engineering teams or projects with high accountability and ownership.

Requirements:

  • 7–10 years of experience in backend, platform, or systems engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's preferred or equivalent real-world experience)
  • Deep experience with Python or comparable backend languages in production environments
  • Proven track record designing and scaling complex systems and APIs
  • Experience leading engineering teams or projects with high accountability and ownership
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, distributed systems, and workflow orchestration
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make architecture decisions under ambiguity
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Startup experience or mindset — adaptable, resourceful, and focused on outcomes
