Senior Data Architect Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Architect to lead our data warehousing and modeling initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data architecture techniques, as well as experience with building stream-processing systems using solutions such as Storm or Spark- Streaming.

  • Selecting and integrating Big Data tools and frameworks to provide requested capabilities
  • Developing and maintaining data pipelines implementing ETL processes, monitoring performance, and advising infrastructure changes
  • Translating technical and functional requirements into detailed designs
  • Investigating alternative solutions to data storing, processing, etc. to ensure streamlined approaches are implemented

Key Responsibilities:

Data Architecture Expertise

The Senior Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing data architectures that meet business needs. This includes:

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling techniques
  • Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles - Hadoop v2, MapReduce, HDFS
  • Experience with GCP cloud platforms Airflow, Cloud Composer, Data Fusion, Data Flow, Data Proc, Big Query
  • Good knowledge of Big Data querying tools, such as Pig, Hive, and Impala
  • Experience with Spark, SQL, and Linux
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the Senior Data Architect must have:

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling techniques
