Job Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Purchaser to lead purchasing operations and develop comprehensive strategies for supplies and equipment procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and oversee purchasing plans that align with business objectives and ensure optimal cost savings.
  • Craft negotiation tactics to secure the best possible terms and conditions with suppliers.
  • Analyze market trends and forecasts to identify opportunities and changes in buyer-supplier dynamics.

Purchasing Operations:

  • Manage requisitioning, purchase orders, and vendor relationships to minimize expenses and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clear requirements documentation and accurate deliverables.
  • Determine quantities and delivery schedules for timely receipt of essential supplies and equipment.

Vendor Management:

  • Identify and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability criteria.
  • Resolve disputes and claims related to supplier performance or contractual obligations.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and develop staff members to enhance team capabilities and expertise.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures through regular review of purchase orders and contracts.

Educational Background and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (BE/MBA in MM/SCM).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and negotiation skills are necessary for success in this role.

Work Experience:

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in procurement management with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain attention to detail.
