Job Title: Purchasing Director
Our client, a leading manufacturer of Chlor-Alkali chemicals, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Director to lead their procurement function.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of strategic sourcing, category management, and vendor relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key spend categories, including raw materials, solvents, catalysts, packaging, and engineering supplies.
- Monitor global and domestic chemical markets to anticipate pricing trends and availability.
- Identify, assess, and develop suppliers (domestic and international).
- Lead negotiations and manage long-term agreements, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
- Ensure compliance with REACH, RoHS, and other regulatory guidelines in procurement contracts.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, and process improvements.
- Prepare and monitor procurement budgets and ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Maintain optimum stock levels while minimising working capital.
