About the Role

We are seeking a skilled System Tester to join our team. As a key member of our Quality Engineering group, you will play a vital role in defining, building, and maintaining a comprehensive suite of tests for FlashBlade Enterprise Readiness.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop optimal test coverage for FlashBlade use cases, collaborating closely with Developers, Solution Architects, and Product Managers to ensure that your test environment accurately validates customer requirements.

As a System Tester, you will:

  • Develop and execute customer-driven system testing for FlashBlade, a unified fast file and object platform.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that your test environment closely mirrors customer use cases.
  • Own and drive testing to completion by reviewing product requirements, design documents, and customer use cases to build test plans, test cases, and develop automation to execute system testing for new and existing features across multiple FlashBlade releases.

You will work closely with Dev/PM, Support, and Escalation teams to help reproduce and root cause customer issues, identify, analyze, and document defects discovered during testing.

As a voice for FlashBlade Systems Quality, you will prioritize customer satisfaction in all conversations.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Hands-on experience in software testing and test automation, preferably within an enterprise storage product environment (on-premise or cloud) with Distributed Systems architecture as a key component.
  • Experience working closely in flash storage is highly desirable.
  • Good knowledge of file systems, file system protocols, data replication: read/write (IOPS, latency, bandwidth), I/O datapath, NFS, SMB, S3, ACLs, networking layers (switching, routing, VLANs, LACP/LAGS), and replication specifics.
  • Strong automation skills, familiarity with Pytest is a plus.
  • Understanding of end customers' use/deploy Storage Systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with application ecosystems (e.g., NetBackup, Veeam, Commvault, Vertica, Elastic Search, Database workloads) and directory services (e.g., OpenLDAP, AD, OUD).
  • Experience in related system software projects (Operating Systems, Linux Kernel, Hypervisors, Containers).
  • Ability to deploy and use 3rd party IO tools to simulate IO test workloads as a supplement to real workloads.
  • Skilled at reviewing and collaborating on product design documents and test plans, and competency in authoring detailed test plans.
  • Agile, Test-Driven Development, and Continuous Integration experience.
  • Stellar communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams to gather data for future automation project roadmaps.
