Senior Fund Accountant Job Description

As a senior fund accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our organization. This position focuses on fund-level accounting while also supporting portfolio company oversight.

  • Manage monthly closes and oversee full-cycle accounting in QuickBooks or similar software.
  • Record and track interest, fee, and equity income across structured deals.
  • Prepare management reports and investor-ready financial statements.
  • Support CPAs on tax prep, filings, and fund administration.
  • Review financials from 1–5 portfolio companies and flag variances.
  • Ensure GAAP-compliant reporting across multiple industries.
  • Standardize reporting templates and assist CFOs/finance leads.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of direct fund accounting experience (private equity, private debt, or fund admin required).
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and multi-entity consolidations.
  • Background working with companies in the $10M–$100M revenue range.
  • Ability to manage both fund-level and portfolio-level reporting.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks or other accounting platforms.
