Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Storage and Backup Administrator to join our team at CommScope. As a key member of our IT Operations team, you will be responsible for administering, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting issues related to storage and backup equipment and applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain storage and backup systems, including NAS devices, SANs, and backup software.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to storage and backup systems, including performance issues and data integrity problems.
  • Collaborate with other members of the IT Operations team to implement and resolve issues collectively.
  • Provide day-to-day storage and backup device operations, including data backups and restores.
  • Develop and maintain backup policies and procedures, including overseeing retention criteria and corresponding legal holds.
  • Perform maintenance on existing backup systems and databases.
  • Configure and manage storage and backup systems, including data migration and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues related to the backup and recovery environment.
  • Resolve and escalate complex incidents/problems and provide root cause analysis.
  • Provide descriptive and timely updates for all assigned incidents/problems.
  • Liaise with vendors on vendor-related incidents/problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, or four years of relevant IT experience with an equivalent combination of training, experience, and/or education.
  • At least 5+ years of experience working with storage and backup platforms, including NAS devices, SANs, and backup software.
  • Extensive experience with storage and backup systems, including data migration and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware, virtualization, networking, and data center operations.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Capable of developing written processes and procedures.
