Lead Developer (AS400/RPG)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Developer with expertise in the IBM i / AS/400 platform and RPG IV / RPG Free Format, CLLE, and ILE concepts to lead our development team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a leadership role and drive the development of innovative applications using various software technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership
    • Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure high-quality delivery of projects.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Application Development
    • Design, develop, test, and deploy complex applications using RPG IV / RPG Free Format, CLLE, and ILE concepts.
    • Ensure timely and efficient completion of projects within budget constraints.
  • Team Management
    • Lead and manage a team of developers to achieve project goals and objectives.
    • Provide mentorship and training to junior developers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience
    • 12 - 20 years of experience on IBM i / AS/400 platform.
    • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing development teams.
  • Skills
    • Expertise in RPG IV / RPG Free Format, CLLE, and ILE concepts.
    • Strong understanding of DB2/400 – physical/logical files, SQL, journaling, triggers.
    • Excellent debugging skills using STRDBG, job logs, and error analysis.
