Account Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Account Assistant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of accounting principles, hands-on experience with Tally Prime, and proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Word). Exposure in preparing Bank Reconciliation Statements will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Operations Management: Perform daily accounting operations and enter financial data accurately in Tally Prime.
  • Bank Reconciliation Statement Preparation: Prepare and maintain Bank Reconciliation Statements regularly.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable Functions: Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain organized records of all financial transactions and documents.
  • Supportive Role: Support the finance team during monthly closings and external/internal audits.
  • Filing and Documentation: Manage the filing and documentation of all accounting and financial records for easy retrieval.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Accounting Principles: Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Tally Prime Expertise: Proficiency in Tally Prime.
  • MS Office Skills: Strong command of MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Bank Reconciliation Statement Experience: Hands-on experience in preparing Bank Reconciliation Statements.
  • Organizational Skills: Good organizational and documentation skills.
  • Teamwork Ability: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Educational Qualification:
  • Degree Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Certification Advantage: Any additional certification in accounting tools/software will be an added advantage.
Experience:
  • Experience Level: 0–1 year of relevant experience in an accounting or finance support role.
