About the Role

Enphase Energy is a global leader in energy technology, and we're seeking a skilled Commodity Manager to join our team. As a key member of our NPI team, you will be responsible for sourcing activities, ensuring quality, delivery, cost, and service deliverables are met for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for sourcing activities for assigned NPI projects.
  • Ensure sourcing project deliverables are met, including quality, delivery, cost, and service.
  • Active involvement in project planning and drive cross-functional teams to ensure sourcing processes are followed.
  • Manage product cost at the Bill of Materials (BOM) level for all commodities for assigned projects.
  • Risk mitigation, including End-of-Life (EOL), New/Renewable/Non-Renewable (NRND), globalization, single-source elimination, and PSL adherence.
What You'll Be Doing

As a Commodity Manager, you will support assigned mechanical commodities for all NPI projects, drive capacity planning and single-source risk mitigation at the NPI stage, and represent Enphase's needs to the industry to drive supplier partnerships.

  • Work with Enphase technical experts to define target candidate suppliers based on Enphase commodity strategy.
  • Lead commercial-related activities, including RFIs/RFPs, cost finalization, and commodity management roles in activities led by other functions to support NPI.
  • Collaborate with Enphase commodity experts and commodity team members to drive best sourcing decisions based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Understand current market pricing and dynamics of the competitive landscape.
  • Define cost drivers, establish should-cost, and work with engineers to achieve Design-to-Cost.
  • Escalation point for NPI teams on assigned commodity-related issues, including delivery, quality, supplier support, etc.
Strategy Development and Implementation
  • Collaborate with Enphase Global Commodity Managers - Sustaining and other commodity team members to define Enphase sourcing strategy.
  • Implement commodity strategy during the whole NPI lifecycle.
  • Manage sourcing risks and create mitigation plans during the whole NPI lifecycle.
  • Contribute valuable inputs to supplier scorecards and business reviews, follow up on responsible action points, and drive supplier improvement continuously.
Technology Management
  • Align suppliers and Enphase technology roadmaps through understanding market trends, Enphase future requirements, and suppliers' technology value propositions.
  • Develop suppliers to enable innovative products/solutions to align with Enphase roadmaps.
  • Be a trusted partner and thought leader to Enphase product and development teams.
Who You Are and What You Bring
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and close cross-functional project initiatives with great project management skills.
  • Minimum BE (preferable Engineering, ME Engineering, and/or MBA).
  • 2+ years of NPI/Global Commodity Management, Manufacturing, or Management experience in the industry. Strong background in NPI management is a plus.
  • Direct experience in assigned commodities.
  • Possesses strong technical and commercial knowledge on cost drivers.
  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills.
  • Strong, positive, can-do attitude, self-motivated, and directed.
